12 Months of Photos - April

I decided that this month, I’m going to write something about each of the pictures I took. I never did get #10 (Fancy) though… Anyway, here goes! :D

1. Yellow

The sky looked so good in the morning on April 3rd that I took my tripod in with me to work so I could take this picture from the balcony. The pastel yellows and blues were irresistible. :D

2. Easter Celebrations

Daniel and Jess spent Easter with her mother, so they came over the following Tuesday to celebrate with us! I “hid” some Easter eggs around the front yard for Kieran and Rowan to find. This is Rowan’s basket, I believe.

3. Looking Up

On April 2nd, as I looked up to the sky from my driveway, there was the Big Dipper (part of Ursa Major) shining brightly in the sky. It took me a while to get the picture right, though… well, strictly speaking I got it right on the second try, but I didn’t realize that until after the 20th.

4. Flowers

This is one of the bushes along my driveway. It’s fully in bloom for the spring and looking good.

5. Out of Place

I spent Easter weekend in Boston at an anime convention, and Saturday night as I was walking the mile or so back to the hotel from the convention center, I came across this building. I thought the castle-like building looked decidedly out of place in downtown Boston. (Apparently it’s an upscale steakhouse named Smith & Wollensky.)

6. Glass

This is a hallway at work, basically a bridge that goes between the two major sections of the building.

7. 1:00pm

Every day at 1:00pm, I’m at work, slaving away at my keyboard… all the while looking at the clock and out the window, wishing it was time to go home. :)

8. Circle

While trying to think of circles I could capture, I happened across these mushrooms in my back yard. It’s not quite up to fairy ring proportions yet, but maybe with time.

9. Breakfast

I honestly couldn’t think of anything for this one, and I happened to grab some Pop-Tarts from the vending machine one morning, so here they are in all their delicious glory!
